We truly hope that you had a blessed Thanksgiving week filled with happy memories with family and friends.

This week marked the beginning of our Advent season as well as the end of our first trimester. We are now in the season of joyful waiting for the birth of Jesus Christ. We will talk about the birth of Jesus and will practice our songs for the Christmas party.

The Christmas Program and Party will be held on December 15, at 9:45 – 11:45 AM. Santa Claus will come to our classroom and the student will be singing and performing some Christmas songs. You are invited!

We will have the Christmas Break from December 19, 2016 - January 2. Class resumes on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

Report cards, second trimester plan, Pre-K goal and objectives will be given to you before Christmas Break.

We are looking forward to another wonderful year working with your children. They are so energetic, loving, and ready to learn and that make everyday a blessing! Have a wonderful month.

Highlights for December 2016

Important Dates:

Theme for the month: Winter Celebration. Hanukkah, Christmas, Winter.

Lesson Plan for 4 years old:

• Writing: Identifying and tracing alphabets J-L. Associated words and sentences
• Math: Revision of Number concept 1-10. Concepts of Size
• Science: Seasons, Signs of Winter, Safety during Winter, our Bodies.
• Religion: Significance of the Immaculate Conception, understanding Mary as our Mother, and the Mother of Our Church family. Advent, a time to prepare for Jesus’ birthday and Christmas, the time to celebrate Jesus’ birth.

Lesson Plan for 3 years old:

• Overview: name, identify, and locate shapes in the environment. Create shapes using various objects and materials. Sort and order boxes by size, shape and color.
• Vocabulary: start, circle, triangle, merry Christmas, happy new year, holiday, gift, etc.

Illness Prevention: As the cold and flue season is upon us, we want to share some tips to staying healthy:

• Washing hands frequently
• Cover your cough with your elbow or sleeve
• Children should stay home if they are exhibiting flu-like symptoms.

“My Big World with Clifford”, a magazine for your child. engaging nonfiction articles that help build knowledge and vocabulary. It also has many early-learning activities on its website. You can visit the My Big World website at home. You and your child will be able to:

• Listen to articles being read aloud
• Watch short videos that build knowledge
• Play simple education games
• Print activity pages

Kính thưa Quý Phụ Huynh, 

Hy vọng Quý Phụ Huynh và gia đình đã có dịp Lễ Tạ Ơn vừa qua thật tràn đầy hồng ân, và nhiều kỷ niệm đẹp với gia đình và bạn bè. 

Tuần đầu tiên của Tháng 12 đã đánh dấu Mùa Vọng bắt đầu và cũng là dịp kết thúc học kỳ thứ  nhất của các Bé Mẫu Giáo. Chúng ta đang trong thời gian vui tươi chờ đợi đại Lễ Giáng Sinh. Các bé sẽ học về Hài Nhi Giêsu và chuẩn bị bài hát cho chương trình Giáng Sinh. 

Kính  mời  Quý  Phụ  Huynh  đến  chung  vui  với  các  bé  ngày  15  tháng  12,  từ  9:45  đến 11:45. Ông Già Noel sẽ ghé thăm, đem quà cho các bé và các bé sẽ trình diễn một số bài hát Giáng Sinh. 

Các bé sẽ được nghỉ Lễ Giáng Sinh và Năm Mới từ  ngày 19 tháng 12 năm 2016. Thứ Ba, ngày 3 tháng 1 năm 2017 các bé đi học trở lại. 

Bảng ghi nhận về các bé sẽ được gởi tới Quý Phụ Huynh trước khi nghỉ Giáng Sinh. Xin Quý Phụ Huynh xếp giờ trao đổi với các Sơ nếu có thắc mắc, vì lợi ích cho con em mình. Các Sơ chân thành cám ơn. 

Các Sơ mong ước một Năm Mới sẽ được cùng các bé học tập. Các bé rất năng động và ham hiểu biết làm cho mỗi ngày đến trường là một phúc lành. 

Cha Tuấn và Sơ Theresa cũng gởi lời kính chúc đến Quý Phụ Huynh Mùa Giáng Sinh an lành, và Năm Mới vui khỏe, hạnh phúc. Cám ơn Quý Phụ Huynh đã cho Giáo Xứ Thánh Anna được cộng tác với gia đình để đồng hành cùng các bé.
